Have you ever thought that even in the matter of marriage
there is prejudice?
Yes, you read well!!!! My experience makes me say that with
100% confidence.
Can you tell me who decided that all the lights should be on
the the bride on this special day? Why not, just once, shine
the spotlight on the groom? Indeed, it would be a welcome
change for him to be the star of the wedding, just so the
bride could find a way to escape from all the female guests.
I only mention this because we are all waiting to see the
bride's attire, and even if she is perfect from head to toe, we
will always find something to chat about. I don't speak about
the lucky brides who never need to diet, or to have Touigi as
the perfect image in their minds. I talk about us. The Normal
girls. With a few extra kilos from the feta cheese and the
Greek salad with extra olive oil, and homemade bread
swimming in it!!!!
Not all of us look like models! So what can we do on our
wedding day? Dress like Demmis Roussos (sorry Demmis)
in bed sheets because all the wedding gowns come in 'ready
to die' sizes?
The issue here is that the perfect day is coming and every
bride wants to look beautiful.
YOU ARE!
In the eyes of your Valentine you are the most beautiful girl in the world. He chose you for your brain and heart, the inside of the book, not the cover! The good news is that he will continue to love you and not change his mind because he has seen you with your extra kilos, because he went out with you and your extra kilos for a BIG romantic dinner, and now he wants to spend the rest of his life with you and your extra kilos.Think! If you loose some weight he might become sad - even despondent!
Let's get back to wedding gowns! Erase with a big X the word 'bed sheet' from your mind. Most of you 'normal' ladies think that the solution is to custom make a dress especially for you. But that will cost more money, because materials and designers are expensive. Wrong solution. I have personally lived the prejudice that I mentioned. I tried to find the right clothes, and the girls at the stores tried to convinced me that the blouse - or should I say the 'sample' - I was trying to wear was....the XL?????? I was one step in front of depression and half next to the fridge. That's where this situation sends you if you don 't have strong nerves and humor. Thank God I had both. I love and respect myself just as I am, and I don't want to destroy my body with 'wonderdiets'.
I'm a wonder myself!
And that is what made me bring to my wedding store gowns of all sizes. From 10 to 70! The designs are fabulous - the materials too! Satin, laces from Spain , fine organza, taffeta in a classic or modern style - all made to satisfy the ladies who are looking for
a special dress for this special day.
So, don't leave a few extra kilos, which you can loose if you want, and if you don't you can still cover them in a very delicate way, to ruin the best day of your life. Enjoy every minute of it and let the spotlight shine on you! And for the female guests who will try to find something to chat about .... one thing is sure: they will be blinded by your bright smile of confidence!
