Name: Sarah Elder
Home country: England
Year you came to Corfu: 1990
Where you now live on Corfu: Dassia
Job before coming to Corfu: Advertising Agency
Current Job: Restaurant/Bar
Why you came to Corfu: Came on holiday, met someone and came back to live two months later.
Funniest story about living in Corfu: Years ago, my husband was charged with drunk driving. The court case came up several years later and he pleaded guilty and did not contest the charge at all. However, he was found not guilty because he had only been drinking small beers! The spectators in the court were all laughing and told him to get out quick before the judge changed his mind.
What you like best about living in Corfu: The Greeks have a deep respect for family life and this conveys to everyday life here in Corfu. There is very little crime and the crazy politically correct world of the UK is thankfully a million miles away.
What you like least: There is no sense of urgency which can sometimes be frustrating, especially in business, but you just have to get used to it.
Favourite Restaurant: La Familia in Corfu Town - the food is fantastic.
Favourite activites: Travelling and socialising
