Even visitors staying in outlying areas are likely to pay at least one visit to Corfu Town, as it is a bustling and vibrant city, as well as being rich in historical and scenic attractions. Stroll through the "old city" or the Jewish Quarter, visit both the old and the new fortresses, Mon Repos, the Achillion Palace, the Asian Art Museum, the Archeological Museum and Saint Spirodon Church. There are many fine restaurants and often free theatrical presentations in the National Theatre. Afterwards you can have a drink or a coffee at one of the many cafes on the Liston, where tourists and locals stroll day and evening.
